Fueled by a real fall TV season and the return of football with fans, Nielsen’s Gauge report for September 2021 shows a second consecutive month increase in broadcast viewing. The Gauge is Nielsen’s Total TV and Streaming viewing snapshot.

In September, the report also shows a decline in the “Other TV” category due mostly to the decrease in video gaming caused by the new school year and the new football season.  The “Other Streaming” category shows a gain in September, driven by a combination of engagement with additional services and linear streaming services, such as Sling TV.
